I have been looking at them for a long time and wondered what they were like. Seem to be real good quality [in appearance].....Conneticut base company- I believe they are made HERE.....any one use or have used them?
I know they are primarily for Marine use,
But some are damned cool looking guages.ALSO- they have a round collar that screws on the back to hold em in -rather than the C brackets of most other guages.....
I was on their site and ordered a catalog...I got it-But have yet to get a price list....

We used them in our high speed powerboat production ( Hydrolift (http://www.hydrolift.com) ) for years. Didnt have much problems with them. One of the reasons we swiched to Gaffrig instruments were some issues with fogging glass/ moisture. Faria`s are not extremely accurate. I Remember the speed log used to show about 80mph when we actually did 70. But the customers seemed to be happy with that. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif The Gaffrig`s we use now is more expencive but dead accurate and moisture proof however.
What I am talking about here is in extreme offshore salt water conditions ,so in a closed, dry coupe I`m sure the Faria`s will last indefenitely

I have a Faria tach that I used in my '40 Ford back in the mid to late '60's and it still works perfectly. I have had a full set in my '48 Caddy for the last five years and have had no problems whatsoever. I also have a bunch of Faria gauges I just bought off an eBay auction. They look well made, but can't say for sure yet as I haven't actually used them. However, I only paid about four bucks for each gauge, new-in-the-box, so I'm not real worried. I just liked the other gauges so much that I decided to add several to my stockpile for the next car. Also, Faria is an OEM supplier to Ford, Chrysler and Harley-Davidson, so I think that they have a reputation maintain.
i think that they offer good quality for the price (especially if you get them off eBay!
