What is Giclee? (I hope I'm spelling it right!)

I was impressed with a guys work and he told me it was a photograph enchanced through Photoshop and then done in this media. I've searched a little on the net but I've only found artists that use the technique... no info on how it's done etc.

Any info or links would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick

A Gicleé is basically a digital print. Once the photograph (or art) you want has been digitally manipulated in Photoshop (or another program), it can't be developed into negs and film and such. A gicleé allows the artist to print as they are ordered, rather than forking out the cash for a larger print run which is printed all at once. Because it is a digital print, a Gicleé's can be printed on various surfaces like canvas, watercolor paper, vellum, acetate etc.

Hope this helps.
