New guy trying to establish an account...help!

"Soloma" has PM'd me with a problem establishing an account. As a computer illiterate, I'm no help to the guy. Any suggestions? Here's his problem:

AOL is problematic if that's what he's using

He might want to open a new email account, there's lots of free ones out there, like msn.com, hotmail.com, even an obscure one I use sometimes at rock.com - it might not like his email addy or he's not typing it correctly

The email account or address he typed in while he was applying must be exactly correct, or it's sending verification to nowhere... if he skipped a letter or a damn dot - it's going to LIMBO. He might want to reapply under a different name, and make extra sure his Email address is typed correctly.
