Mike is a superb hot rod writer. His work is a perfect blend of fact-based tech blended with entertaining storytelling - from a humble man who knows what he's talking about.

Mr. Bishop is indeed a fine writer.

His book, “How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod” (co-authored with Vern Tardel) is probably sitting on more hot rodders shelves the world over than any other rod builder book.

His more recent contributions, “flathead porting” and some others in the “works” have been shared freely here on the HAMB.

Excellent photographs, clear understandable instructions and as Dave says, “entertaining storytelling”; are Mike’s trademark.

Mike, don’t be shy; stand up and take a deserved bow!

Mike always has something interesting to say and he is able to write about technical stuff without making it too dry.

I just recently realized that Mike and American Rodder had some connection. I never subscribed to AR cuz there seemed to be too many non car chicks hanging all over the cars. Didn't interest me, go figure http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Anywho, can someone, hopefully Mike, fill me in, and others I'm sure, on what you did? Tech writer? Photographer? Editor? ect?

BTW, my personally autographed copy of "How to Build a Traditional Hot Rod" sits on the coffee table, front and center http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike, thanks again for the "proofs". They will also take center stage someone in my home as soon as I figure out how and where. xoxox

and soon my house will become a shine to Mike Bishop http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif....but don't let that go to your head sweetie http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't have a complete run of early AR's yet, and it's always a high point of a fleam arket trip to find one with a Bishop article I don't have. I also frequently find one I do have, but it contains an article so good I buy it AGAIN.
I buy the NEW AR only to remind me why the HAMB is the world's greatest rod magazine.
