I know NOTHING about hotrods. But I won't be getting in anyone's way.
I'm here to lurk and learn.
I'm a serious rockcrawler, got a beat CJ7 that I have done all my own work on. From the ring & pinions to the suspension, cage, whatever. It's all me, and all my fault. If I don't know, I learn it before I do it.
I live about 8 hours from any decent trails, so I have alot more time to fab then to wheel it. I like the work as much as the wheelin.
Recently(now keep this quiet), I've began to wonder if I shouldn't get into something that would let me enjoy it closer to home. Not into the resto thing, I like Kustom. I see you guys agree.
I know there's alot of crossover skills/knowledge to be absorbed here, looking forward to it.

Welcome. I had 10 jeeps growing up. Cj-5s, 7s, and a Wagoneer once. Got to learn lots with Any Motor Company parts. I always wanted to take a 5 or 7 and do it up like a low boy. Just stuff it on the ground, put a straight axle in the front, 401 with pipes dumping out the sides, no fenders, and the wonderful Jeep grill. Also, chop the windshield, ditch the roll bar, and put gages you could SEE in the damn thing.

Unfortunately, the Jeeps up here in Michigan have remove it yourself bodies, no tools required, and the fiberglass ones just don't look cool enough all smooth like that.

A 46-64 flat fender wagon is on my list, still!

At least one crossover skill is making it reliable! If your in the mud up to your ass, it helps to stay running till you get out!

Here's a couple pics. I built it as low as I could. Running 37's on a custom suspension same height as stock. Can't run it on the roads but it will go prettymuch anywhere else I wanna point it.
