Thought it was about time that I introduced myself. I go by the handle "Johnboy" as I've been called that many times throughout life. I'm in my early 60's, originally from Compton, California and have been a car guy most of my life, that is, if you count from about 5 years old and up! My first car was a 1932 Ford Roadster with the original V-8 that I paid 50 bucks for. My second car was a 1934 Ford 5 window coupe that I put an early Hemi (long bellhousing) into. My third car was a 1940 Ford DeLuxe coupe that I put the Hemi engine from the 34 into. My fourth car was a 1955 Chevy 2-door Bel Air sedan that I put a built 327 into. My present ride is a 1932 Ford Roadster (license # MY2ND32)with a 385 cu.in SBC with 2-4's, Dart heads, Comp Cam, Sanderson headers, Mallory ignition, etc. Has a Ford 9 inch rear, and turbo-400 transmission. Other than that it's basically stock! I have been checking the HAMB board for some time now and after reading C9's story about "The Red Roadster" I decided it was time to become an official HAMBER. So that's it, I'm just like the rest of you, love them streetrods!!

Howdy, I'm a former San Diegan (Vista), now residing in Wildomar, got too expensive for me down there. Did you ever go to "Cruising Grand" in Escondido? I think I've seen that car before. My husband was the guy in the big red 65 Peterbilt there almost every Friday.

Welcome to the HAMB from a FNG http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Actually the tires do smoke with very little effort. As to the shiny paint, the car has never been on a trailer, been over to Lake Havasu City, Arizona with it a couple of times and up to Fresno, as well as Bishop, California. Best time though is in Bakersfield for the "California Hot Rod Reunion". Can't hardly wait for October 1st-thru-3rd!!
