Sorry I didn't read all of it.
The vette rearend seems to bring around 750 and up around here depending on condition etc.

the body looks pretty good, youll have to get a decklid, not sure how much they go for or if there are repops out there (never owned one, too expensive).

vette 327's are really good motors, they have forged rotating assemblies and high compression...correct me if iam wrong. but the prices they fetch iam not sure of (into big blocks)... i do know the 202 heads are worth a few hundred depending on condition.

vette rears are worth some bread, but again iam not positive on value... consider this, i have seen a good 12 bolt posi for A-body chevys go for $5-600 , thats with drums. vettes have rear disks, figure an additional couple hundred to the total cost, and repop parts are plentiful for the rebuild. i think the glide speaks for itself, dime a dozen..

6500... seems like a fair price, looks like you get a frame and the doors... better question is, is it worth 6500 to you?

'erm no in all honesty, but sanity isn't prevailing in these days of 'Rat Roddery'.
The fact that this may be your last chance to score a steel Ford coupe maybe true.
Worth it? Not a chance.

Can't tell if the dash or window garnish pieces are there, be a big + if they are... Title would also be a deciding factor to me. Concidering a GLASS body prolly cost that much, by the time ya pay for shipping, i'd go for it. Lanny

What color is the sky in your worlds????? That 5 window would fetch 8-10K so fast on Fordbarn that it would make your head spin!

Steves auto sells decklid skins plain or louvered. He put them on Ebay all the time. I think my boss paid $350? for a louvered one.

I know that the car is worth the $$$, but I just wanted your opinions. The car is about 3 1/2 hours from here, on a trailer that should come with it. The best part is, my Grandparents are twenty minutes away.... Tell the wife we are going to go get the car, spend the night at the grandparents and kill two bird with one stone (and look like a hero 'cause we went to Grandma's!!)

Car comes with all glass, 'Glass fenders (sell on eGay), Duece grill shell, Vette rearend (Buh-Bye!), Roof is all filled in, frame is reinforced (sp??).... I think it is a steel at $6500....

Thanks for all your input.

OUT!
Bravo

I saw that on ebay and thought to myself that it isnt a bad deal at all. That body is not bad and those 202 heads and vette rear are worth some money. The stock frame is worth some cash also. If you break it all down, that body ends up being like 4,000 dollars and that is a deal.

Do it, dont think about it. In a few weekends that car could be on its own feet and then it wont look so "kit form". He wont loose a dime on that deal.

At $6500 you can't go wrong there.

Get it home ASAP. If you don't, someone else will.

Good score.

my car was so ugly at this stage with rolers and unchopped, I had to remind myself I was building what was going to turn out as a cool car. I dont mind sharing this shot because it displays how ugly they are channeled and not chopped. In my opinion, they need both.

this is channeled 1 inch over the frame and like 3 1/2 total. Now thats ugly! It looks like Dumbo uses it to drive from gig to gig http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Once those cars get chopped they look fucking bad. Tell your friend he did good.

I'd check the casting numbers on the block and heads to determine if that has any real value. I don't know if you can tell if the heads are 202's without pulling them off and looking at them. Double humps can also be 1.94's (which most were)

Trailered cars suck!.
Buy it now. You'll regret not buying it forever if you don't. I think it's overpriced but I think EVERYTHING'S overpriced. If you can afford to part with 6500 bones and not get hurt for it....I'd do it.
Some things to think about first are title, V.I.N. stamped on the frame matching V.I.N. on the title etc...In my state, these problems can stop a project in it's tracks, leaving you with an unplatable car or worse, time in jail for accepting stolen property. This happened to a friend of mine when he got a "great price" on a 32, 3 window. He was out $4500 cash and didn't get the car, which had been stolen in 1961! Took his laywer 2 days to bust him outa jail! Prolly never happen to you but it DOES happen.
I'm a little wary of this kinda stuff, especially after my model A was stolen.....

Sounds a pretty good deal to me..

compare to this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2432748276&category=29 755

£4000, about $6400. Makes that body and engine and axle and trans look kinda cheap if you ask me...

Any decent glass body ,new is listed between $7500-9500 bucks.....I think from what I see ....not too bad......there aint alot of tin around my parts.(and I use glass as a point)
