hey guys

ive given myself till the end of this week to have a driving car. i cant keep on going well ill try for next weekend forever. i need a car to drive.

im going to go threw everything tomorow to get that bee iii oootch to start and pull the old m/c out but the one thing thats still stoping me dead in my tacks is a driveshaft or rather lack of

i havnt got the time to crawl under all 5 billion cars in the lot, what chevy would have a 58 1/2 and up length driveshaft? thats not tapered funny. got one out of a truck and it was tapperd so they couldnt cut it down as far as i need it to be.

it needs to end up being 58 1/2 59 inches long after the cutting and ect.

any ideas? man id even be up for buying or trading some art work for one from a hamber by now. this is getting old and i need wheels, i dont want to have to sell the 50 but damnit i need a car:P

anybody?

Most of the salvage yards in my area have a driveshaft pile....with a tape measure and knowledge of what yoke you need, you can probly find what you want.

i ran into the very same thing about the long driveshaft in my shitty shoebox...

i heard the same thing about the tapered driveshaft not being able to be cut down, something about some of them have rubber inserts or something??,so i went to the local driveshaft place and told the guy my situation about needing alonger driveshaft,i was ready to bite the builit for new tubed driveshaft,,and mentioned that i had a truck driveshaft,,,.
..he said "well just bring in everything you have"

i took the stock ford driveshaft, the chevy truck driveshaft and two other driveshafts i had laying around..i dont know exactlly what he did but he cut down the tapperd driveshaft and used pieces from all of them with some offset u-joints..it was like 130.00 bux,but it fits perfect.

the only thing i see that might have been an issue using the tapered shaft is its diameter,,but i had to cut the floor out to retunnel it anyways..

hope this helps
