By way of intro, I've been "addicted" since the mid 60's when I was in high school and heading up to the drags in Epping or Sanford every weekend. About 10 years ago I bought a 53 Ford F100, but something just wasn't right. Ever since I saw the Orange Peal at Epping and Sanford I knew I wanted an Anglia. Then one night my wife (the geek) told me she found an Anglia for sale and said it was the old Orange Peal. Well, to make a long story short, it was and I bought it. Needless to say, the Ford is now for sale. Anyone out there remember the old Orange Peal? Epping in the 60's?

Nope, it was Peal -- it was the 60's.....

and this is now -
1948 Anglia, the old "Orange Peal" drag car from the 60's. It has a 331 Chevy. Tropeano built the car originally -- an A gas car. Turbo 400 trans and 538 Olds rear end. Body is all steel, glass front end, rear fenders and trunk lid. Interior is "basic" -- aluminum and carpet with a roll bar. Still working on it to get it streetable -- hope to have it done by Labor Day for the Spindles Show in Marshfield. When it was racing, it ran in the 10's -- about 125 mph with basically the same engine.
