I just bought a pair of Offy 400 heads from Red's and had to wait over 2 months for em. Then when we try to put them on the valves hit. A .364 cam should not make the valves hit 400 heads. The only reason I wanted Offy heads is I've got an Offy intake. Bad reason I know and I wouldn't do it again. Go Edelbrock. Besides that Vic needs the business http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup he's got girls with a Brizio deuce to support! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Offy came first with the flathead stuff. Edelbrock came into the picture later and benifitted from that. For instance the Offy 3 deuces intake only takes 97 carbs unless you want to grind on your 94s. Edelbrock manifold takes either carb. They saw Offy's mistake. I would imagine the heads are a similar situation but really don't know for sure. Vic ran his own stuff tho, and that works for me. I don't think there's a real performance advantage of one over the other.
How much has your block deck been shaved over the years?
Could be it isn't Offy's fault.

I think Fuelpump had the machine shop slip in that .600 lift cam and is trying to give Offy a bad name. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Frank,
If I'm gonna slip anything in anywhere ... I'm not gonna say it's smaller than it really is http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I went with Edelbrock on my 59A. I think they look better and I know they are good quality. Besides I met Vic Jr @ the Portland Historic Races and thought he was a great guy.
