View Full Version : How'd I do?
Yesterday I picked up a Offy intake with 6 97's and most of the linkage. $400. Should I attempt to run all these or just the 4 corner carbs? Any other helpful info on setting this up.

Sounds like a deal considering what those dang 97's are bringing now........ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
You did good, real good. I'd run progressive linkage, get the center 2 going first and have the outside 4 kick in later.
Do you have experience with running this setup?

I'd definitely run all 6 with straight linkage. How do you expect those poor folks at the oil companies to survive if you run progressive linkage and start getting all of that fuel economy? hehe!!! Seriously, I think you did OK, you can Ebay just the carbs and make money.

It's a different setup but I run 97's with a progressive linkage and it works great. I start at carb #3, #2 is next and finally #1&4. Believe it or not, I got 19 mpg on the way back from the HAMB drags. The O/D A833 helps with the mileage too.
With current prices on 97's you did great!

You don't wanna run that stuff. I'll take it off your hands for what you paid. They get terrible mileage, they're noisy, all 6 prolly need rebuilding, the list goes on. Just lemme know. Seriously, ya done good!! Run all 6, that's what it was designed to do. Pete

I've helped set up the progressive linkage, works pretty much the same as a 3x2. And I'm sure you can find some more help on here. The reason I like the 6x2 is you can use a progressive linkage. 4x2's are straight linkage only. Is the linkage on there or is it carbs and intake only? If you need linkage I'm sure vaphead has what you need or can get it...
Most of the linkage is there. Am definitely going to need a couple pieces.
