I have been chasing wires on this motorhome fiasco and it might be easier/faster to run a switch on the dash for the pump. Would I have to have a relay? I don't want to burn this thing to the ground.......

gm pumps are 8 amps..
they're all pretty close to that unless they've got problems..

Are all the GM intank pumps the same? Or do they have different sizes based on engine displacement?

Would that be too much draw if I just runa hot wire off of the ignition switch? I am no electrician...

Use 14 gauge wire or larger and you should be okay with an 8 amp draw.
I tend to lean towards overkill, so I'd run 12 or 10 gauge wire off of a relay wired into the ignition switch, but that's just me!

You better run a relay. Filters can get plugged up and cause a pump to draw a lot more than 8 amps. Better safe than sorry.
