Here are a couple of pics of stuff I found today. I was gonna post more, but Starphoto's Gay, so i had to host these on my business site. I'm trying to decide if I wanna grab these or not; the price is right, but time and space are VERY tight lately! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The Car is an early 50's (any one know for sure?) plymouth 2 door, REALLY solid for a 50 yr old MI car, but I think the floors are rough. The trunk floor is solid though, so maybe not. No motor or tranny in the car, but it comes with a 53 more door with a good motor and trans (rough, but salvageable body). You can see in the second photo that the drivers rear 1/4 molding's missing, but I'd be willing to bet it's there if I wanna dig in the mud a little. Other than that all of the trim is there, and all of the glass is good.

And here is an old F3 Flatbed. The body's a little rough, but the frame's solid. It's got an 8BA that looks like it'd fire right up! The air cleaner's still on it, all of the belts are on and tight, there's still an old battery in it, etc... My dad says that if Mr Gasser really has as many parts as I said, he should get it for a parts hauler! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I thought it'd be really cool to convert into a flatbed car hauler... The tag in the glove box says it'll haul 6800 lbs! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Nice finds man. The 50 Plymouth would make a cool gasser. It amazes me sometimes how well the chrome on late 40's early 50's mopars holds up in the rust belt states.

That Plymouth needs a straight axle and a Hemi.

I would LOVE to take you guys out to this private yard, But if I ever go out there without my dad I'll probly get shot! (The old Hicks don't care for strangers nosin' around in their stuff; and we all know, I'm stranger than most! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

I'm up for a roadtrip to Flint to check this place out and Steve's dad showing us the way sounds like fun. He's a cool guy.

If I DO get to drag you guys out there, it'll have to be a SMALL group of people, and we'd probly have to tell 'em some crap like "we don't want any parts, we just like to shoot B&W Pics of old junk cars..." or some crap like that. They seem to get pretty paranoid. They think everyone's out to rip 'em off! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif The guy that OWNS the yard is cool, but he actually lives in Arkansas, and his Mom "watches" it for him. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

All that nice chrome is actually stainless.

It's a safe bet that a Mopar of that vintage will have dusted floors. My Dodge came from a life in Las Vegas and the floors were rusted out.

Old cars sitting in fields are cool.

It's part of our history. Americana at it's finest.
