View Full Version : 28-31 Ford firewalls

Ok I just bought a nice 30 Coupe,but the firewall has been hacked.My question is..is there a difference between 28/9 and 30/1 firewalls??? I know the gas tank is the top part but how about the lower?? is it the same for all the years(28-31)?

Yes.
28-29 are the interchangable and 30-31 are too, but 28- 29 are different from 30-31.
Even still there are small changes through the years
28-29 the gas tank has the top half of the firewall attached to it and the 30-31 doesn't, it's a one piece firewall.

Thats just what I needed to know thanks much Doc!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Here you can see they also cut part of the front of the cowl off.Anybody got ant of this stuff cheap??The front of the cowl is what I need most.

It looks like a great coupe you have there.

Just a note that the front edge of your cowl has been hacked off, too. Might be more difficult to mount a stock firewall. You might just want to fab your own, or find another cowl or cowl panel.

If you want that hood ledge restored, the easiest way to fix that with the lea$t amount of body work woud be replace everything from the door hinges forward. shield pillars all the way to the visor and all.
Or check out full cowl side patch panels

Yeah they messed it all up,anyone have some cowl fronts?? I need them most.Found it on Fordbarn.......

I think we might have a cowl to fix that one up. I'll check this weekend. If we have it you can have it for free, just come by and get it.
