Found this site today, by accident at work, sure am glad I did. This is the type place I have been looking for.
I currently own a 1948 Chevy coupe, 1940 Chevy four door sedan, 1965 Mustang and a 1934 Dodge roadster.
I am in the process of building an old gasser style 66 Valiant to go drag racing with. It will be powered by of all things, a blown 225 ci slant six.
Look forward to perhaps meeting some people in west central Florida in the near future.

Cool sounding garage, man. Are they hot rods? Stockers? Customs? Kustoms? Street rods?

Anyway, welcome. Even if you do own a Moose-tang. ;^)

The 48 and 40 Chevys are street rods, sbc, 700r4 and 270 rear gears.
Mustang is 200ci 6cyl, headers, cam and Holley carb
34 Dodge is actually a bucket on a 34 pu frame, powered by a blown 225 slant.

Okay, now that's a neat 'Stang. I always thought that if my Camaro had come with the 250 I'd hop that up instead of my 327.

I guess then I'd be Bigcheese250.

I want to see the "Blown Slant 6" tree that seems to be growing in your back yard! Or maybe just some pics.

Why such a HIGH gear ratio with the 700R4 cars? I HATED mine with the 2.73 rear that I had. I'm going really low next time I use it.

Both street rods, I built for Interstate cruising. The 48 has a modified valve body and the first three gears are lower than normal. It's like driving a 400 turbo with overdrive.

OK, here are two of the cars. When this computer speeds up, I'll try and get the others on.

Ok REJ...your profile sez "rat rods"...but neither of those two are...stickers don't make the bucket a rat rod...matter of fact, neither do the wheels...gotta get rid of those Cragars...color is right...love the slant six (that helps in rat rods)...

I want to see pics of the '48 coop too...however, neither your "intro" nor your profile tell us how old you are...nor if you're married...nor if...well, you get the picture...

AND if you get that Valiant together, the HAMB drags are happening (again) in August in Kansas...it's a run what ya brung style race...that Mopar will fit rite in...

Anyway, welcome to the The House of HAMB...

Welcome REJ

You missed the groundhog gala coverage a few weeks ago, you were mentioned. Remember, being on the HAMB means having a thick skin.

Groundhog gala thread (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=307913&Forum=U BB1&Words=groundhog&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpa ge=0&Limit=25&Old=1month&Main=299001&Search=true#P ost307913)

I saw your Dodge there, I kinda liked it.

West Central FL, are you a Tampon?

OK, 40StudeDude. I'm 52 years old, married 31 years to the same one and she is a keeper.
It will probably be a year before I get the Valiant together. I will keep the drags in mind though.

4t64rd, I live out in the Brandon area. Met some guys out at a cruise on Wednesday night and they told me about the meet in Orlando. That was a great show they had over there.
As far as the thick skin, I build cars that I like to drive and could give a damn what any one else thinks about them.
Thats why I started doing this to start with.Do what you want to do and let everyone else do the same.

welcome to the board but no using the R word (Ratrod) around here... the R word is for the unknowledgeable trendy folks that dont understand we this board is into...

cool projects but got to agree with losing the front only cragers on the bucket, find a set of skinnny steel rims and switch over.. wider tire always belong on the rear.
