Okay, so I'm trying to make a dipstick tube for my Cadillac engine going into my coupe...the original is a two piece conglomeration that likes to break in half...I want to make a one piece tube outta stainless so it can be polished...only problem is, it's 7/16 thin wall...nobody seems to have this size. Anybody on here have a source for something like this? I'm only talking about 3 or 4 feet at most (just in case I screw it up the first time around)Thanks-

Foodplants use Stainless lines to run Air and Hydraulic cylinders. I have seen 1/2" and 3/8", I don't know if they make it in 7/16" or not. Might check with a Restaurant/Foodservice supply house. Maybe McMaster-Carr...

Just checked with McMaster-Carr...no dice...the only tubing they've got in 7/16" diameter is flexible aluminum...only good to 180 degrees...not gonna work....I did just find a dairy supply place in the southern part of Wisconsin that claims to sell stainless 7/16" in 5'sticks....thanks fer the help...here's their info if anybody else is looking:

i will look this evening at work.
do you need a little bead/flange/thingy on one end so it won't slide into the block?
3 or 4 feet might be tough,2 feet prolly doable if we have it.
lemme know
