Vic: Allstate (Sears) sold a lot of different bikes made by various companys under their Alstate name. If your bike looks like the one from AG it is a Vespa and it should say made by Piaggio in Italy somewhere on it. Probably a 125 or 150cc bike. They were the same as Vespas except for the "ditch finder" front suspension which has only a spring and no kind of dampner/shock absorber on it. Cool little bikes and you can get most parts for them. Oh yeah and Cushmans are cool espically the early deco looking ones!

Yea, I have a 65 Allstate that's in progress on a full resto. If you have the one with the spring but no front shock you can get a vespa VBB front fork and swap it out to drastically improve handling. The stock fork is similar in ride to that of a pogo stick. Mine's a 125 and when I rebuilt the engine I put at 150 top end on it. There's tons of performance stuff available for those engines. Essentially, the Allstate Vespa is a pared down Vespa VBB/VNB. Nice and curvy styling and aside from the highly sought-after GS, it's my fave.
Pics?
Also... go to www.scooterbbs.com (http://www.scooterbbs.com) it's kinda like the HAMB for scooter folks.

Yea, and my Dad's in the closet about his Cushman... he got his before I bought my Allstate. It's gonna be badass when it's done. I think his is a Highlander.

Here's a pic of the 1964 Vespa VNB I restored last winter. I put a 150cc VBB motor in it with a performance exhaust. It was a blast to ride, but I sold it and bought my 53. I had a flat black 64 Allstate before the Vespa and the ride was kinda sketchy with the fork without a shock on it. Boing boing boing. The Cushman Eagles rule. They're alot harder to find and pricey around these parts.

im building 2 cushman trucksters right now (actually have been off and on for like 4 years). They are a three wheeled truck thing like cops drove around on and marked tires. Also called meter maids. They have 18 hp OMC engines with 3 on the tree trannies. Supposed to do 45 mph.

The one thing that sux about Vespa's is that when the frame is gone you have to replace the whole frame because of the design. You can't really get replacement floorboards, legshields etc. You can get frames from private sellers and some shops as well. There's a plate on the bike near the fuel tap that should have numbers identifying the model. The vin numer is on the left side of the bike on the frame just below the side cowl. With either set of numbers you can go to scooterhelp.com and look up the year of the bike.
Scooterhelp is awesome by the way...

This is even better than a Harley Topper. It's a 165cc bobbed Harley hummer that I restored last summer. Here's a pic.

A old (older than I am) friend has 3 0r 4 vespas in the sixties and a couple step through cushmans. His health is going downhill fast and he is wanting me to buy them. Now he knows the value and I don't. If anyone is serious about them I will try to help you and him out. Please DO NOT inquire unless you are serious and have the money. They are fifty miles from me. Forgot they have all been restored.

Thanks mytlo56. I really liked that bike alot. I'm looking for another one to restore, but there kinda expensive so I might just have to build me a Triumph bobber. About the same price, but the Triumph will go over 50 mph and I can put a pillion pad on the rear fender so the wife can come along.
