I just watched a movie today with Joe Strummer playing an English Elvis look-a-like. Is this THE Joe Strummer? Has anyone else seen this movie? It was called "Mystery Train" - (circa 1989). There was some cool music like Tom Waits and Roy Orbison (sp?). It is kind of an art film, and there are some symbolisms that I have yet to sort out. I should warn you however that I am the kind of person who likes to watch weird, quirky stuff anyway and this is one of them.
I just thought is was cool and wondered if any of you punk rock lovers have seen it.

All of Jim Jarmusch's films are worth seeing, including Night On Earth simply for Roberto Begnini's part, and especially "Dead Man" and "Ghost Dog". Both killer films!
Down By Law
Starnger Than Paradise
etc.

I once went out with a chick because she had a Screamin Jay Hawkins 45.......
Oh yeah Courtney Love's in 'Straight to Hell." That's a truly bad movie, but Elvis Costello's great in it. I kinda dug the motorcycle washing scene though, that'll get a dude pronged up good.
isn't LINK WRAY a real punk rocker.?
PUNK SUCKS
I'm DOWN with ADAM HORIVITZ in "LOST ANGELS"
Actually germ, The Delusionaires are real fucking Punk Rockers.
It's our 4th anniversary party/gig tonight. The wife's making us a cake with two big knockers on them.
Go here www.delusionaires.com (http://www.delusionaires.com) this is shameless self promotion, but we'll out rock anybody out there, and this is no idle boast. Even if our collective age is like 150 years.
And we ain't gonna get into collective weight.

I like Road Side prophets too. Get some John Doe in the mix, and David Carradine smoking a hooka.

yeah "lost angles" was better then "roadside prophets" anyday.
but "mysterey train" is one of my favorite movies next to Merideth Lucas's "blood orgy of the leather girls" and Shaw/ Reed's "Charm"
both written and directed by confirmed "punkers"....Lucas's film even has the pleasure seekers on the soundtrack.
Ghost Dog had the best soundtrack of Jarmush films because of
a) Delroy Wilson......"no.....no...no....you don't love me yes i know..."
b) Junior Murvin "police and theves"

I screwed that chick from that movie JUSTIN, back when we use to smoke pcp, and go see KAREN BLACK
Go to the website 'ol scratch, and you can download snippets, if they're working that is.
We played a live gig on WPRK (Rollins College) on Wednesday night.
They don't let you bring likker or beer in the studio, so we hid a cooler in the bushes. And I have a flask disguised as a radio that comes in handy for clandestine misbehavior.
The sound, sub lo fi that it is, doesn't capture our essence. Live is where one gets the true Delusionaires spirit. It makes girls take their clothes off. If I wasn't married I could have my way with several chicks a night, but I try to be a good boy. But the things that go on inside my head will have to be reserved for the afterlife.
I'm coming back as germ.
