Hello, my name is Bo and I'm from Hickory NC. I have been a motorhead from the age when i was old enough to carry a wrench. I have owned several cars since I was old enough to drive but prefer to drive pre 70's cars. I have always dreamed of making a 60's era dragster clone, well that time has come. I will be posting serveral posts about serveral different areas of the process. The car happens to be a '65 Mercury Comet 202 2 dr post (sedan). This will be my second attempt at this project. The first attempt met a very bad end, includes running off road due to some really bad bump steer due to wrong springs being installed because of myy dad. but thats all in the past and now towards the future. Look forward to hearing all of the positive and negative comments. Thankx for your time and let the posting begin.

Just so you know, this board is more about pre 63 cars. Might not find a lot of interest in the later models. While I'm sure your cars are cool, just know that some people can get a little rude. Pay it know mind.

Howdy from Texas. I have a 66 Galaxie myself. I nearly bought a 65 Comet but it didn't pan out. I am currently working on a 28 roadster pickup as well.

Welcome!

I any old car cool. I am beginning on this board because I want to convert this car to a straight axle with a traverse spring. I have not been able to find alot of info on this kind of setup. You guys Have the straight axle stuff down to an art and I figured I could learn some valuable info. I have found alot of people use the traditional set up with parallel springs. I just find the traverse set up to be very visual appealing. I have had alot of people tell me that I was crazy for wanting to do this, that there are alot of other ways to do this project that would be alot easier and technological. I have never been one to "Go with the flow" if you know what I mean.
