To say good rock's helpful in the shop is an understatement punishable by law, but on some late nights bent over the project (in my case, rear truck fenders), it really gets ya goin'. Tonight was quite the exemption, really noticing a b-side track from Springsteen's "The River" LP, a rocker called "Ramrod", as I'm sanding away on the fender, wishing I were behind the wheel of the '57 instead of hunch over and sanding:
"She's a hot stepping hemi with a 4 on the floor
"She's a roadrunner engine in a '32 Ford
"Late at night when I'm dead on the line
"I swear I think of your pretty face when I let her unwind
"Well look over yonder see them city lights
"Come on little dolly 'n go ramroddin' tonight

All this time I've played that CD in the shop, workin' away, and really NOTICED that one for the first, tonight.
What's a tune or LP you've had that delayed noticing of? Some b-side tune get ya outta nowhere?
Anyway, just had to share.

Steve Miller Band.........."Living in the USA". Love the sound of the old dragster in the background at the end of the song. That one gets turned up real loud in the coupe!

Wow, I'll have to listen closer for the dragster next time... The thundering drums that start up "Hot For Teacher" remind me of a mad-thumpin' motor. As a dj I tried it for a "guess the song-clip" kinda contest, got a lot of people guessing.
