Titus' dropped axle tech post got everybody's attention. Has anybody tried it yet? Results? I'm thinking about building a jig and dropping the axle on my 42 Dodge pickup. It's about the only way I can afford to get the thing low enough to my liking. After buying 4 project cars in the past couple months there's no $$ left over for parts. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I've read and re-read Titus' post, and it finally makes sense, but I was hoping to get more input before I ruin my axle. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am all for doing lots of stuff myself.
But in this case, I would have to spend time and materials building a jig, buy or borrow a forge or a big torch ( my regular rosebud cost me $80, and it would not be big enough ), and then spend more time dropping the axle ( maybe practice on one or two junk ones to get the hang of it )
I did not think it was worth the hassle, and I got one from ElPolaco.
Besides, this is one part you do not want to fail...
im bringing my axle over to titus's place prob this coming weekend. I'll let you know how it goes down.

I had Titus drop an axle for me. I'm a goldchainer and don't like to do any of my own actual work.
I'll post a thread on it soon. It came out beautifully.
