I got the 200r4 installed Sat then couldn't keep the engine running. I found the distributor was badly worn and had lots of play so I installed a HEI distributor tonight. Started right up. Sounded good like a L6 should. Put the rascal in gear and lo and behold it moved! First time under its own power since 1953! I had to throw open the garage door and drive it out and turn it around. Far from finished but felt real good. The Hupp lives!

To quote a line from the classic film, Frankinstein,"It's alive!..it's alive!!" Good luck with the rest of the project.

make sure the kickdown cable is hooked up and adjusted before youtry too many of them short trips or the tranny will be toast..trust me, took me three of them to figure it out:)

Hell Yeah! Love it when that happens. I'm also a big fan of the 200r4, but the advice about the kickdown is serious. It's real easy to muck it up.

I believe I have the TV cable sorted out. Had to make my own linkage of course. Apparently that tranny was never offered in anything with a monojet.
