Today workin, chipping through hard rock and caliche, pretty hard work, walked into the weeds behind the building for a smoke break and found a Model A cylinder head...maybe it's an omen.
I've been checkin the old parts in this area of the desert and maybe when my Triumph is done I'll start accumulating A parts.
The staff of experts here on the Hamb is pretty inspiring....they make it look so easy.

Maybe if you kick the ground under it a roadster will be there!

Does that head have 3 bolt holes for the water pump or 4 bolt holes?

Are there any markings on the top of the head?

Well, it says:

"made FORD in usa" and there is a little "z" or "n" by the water neck.
But only two bolts on the water neck- maybe it's a T bone head?
Smart about English bikes but dumb about cars...

No, not in the slammer, our village is sitting on 300 million year old sedimentary rock that makes it a bitch to lay water lines.
No roadsters fossilized here, but if you kick a trailer you find Ford wires and rear axles, radius rods, etc.

It sounds like you found a Model T head. They look like this.

Model A heads have a two bolt water neck on top, and a place to mount a water pump on the front. 4 bolt water pumps were '28-'31, and the later Model B and C heads which were higher compression had three bolt water pumps.

If a Model A head has the Ford logo on it, most likely it is a head from a tractor. They marked the tractor heads with the Ford logo, so you would know what kind of engine it was when you needed to order parts.

You are right, it is a T head. The Ford script is in a different place than on your picture. I should have known- no distributor hole.
I am going to wait for a better Model A omen I guess.
Thanks for the ID
The building was a car repair shop for years, found a NOS Thompson Products connecting rod in the box GR1200 STD.
Nice thing for the shop shelf.
The coolest thing in the building is a wall of Bear alingment tools, all the rods, chains, levers etc. for aligning beam axles, all neatly hung up in their place. And an old Bear balancing machine.
Modernbeat and Foiled saw them, but no one seems to want to move a ton of old tools. Like to find a good home for them.
