Is there that much money in selling Viagra? I get 10-12 messages a day trying to sell me prescriptiion meds over the internet. Is that even legal?
Sorry but this is really starting to piss me off. I had 1 email from a hamber and 6 thaty were crap this morning.

God only knows that we would all opt for larger penis but....that's my business and I'll talk to my Dr. if so.
How can you sell prescription drugs over the internet? Looks like there would be some sort of FDA standards there..

These assholes need to go to jail. This a gross invasion of our privacy, perhaps the worst kind in the history of communications.
Some Florida spammers are finally going to trial over this issue and it's possible they'll face long prison terms.

I had to kill my 8 year olds email account we had set up for her to write back and forth to her cousins in VA.
She was getting all kinds of porno sites etc. and she had it set up for approx. 6 months. But the filters wouldn't catch the stuff. It would come in with crazy stuff like,

I agree Nads, someone needs to be held accountable.
Email lists seem to be generated ramndomly and It appears they are sold with great abandon.
I have been told there is a great risk when free stuff is downloaded from the internet, especially with downloaded music.
Oh, when you do the remove function where you enter your email address is a great way to create an email list for the particular site.

You should have called the FBI, if a minor receives that junk they can prosecute them. Someone needs to pursue it.

If you have Outlook Express for example as an e-mail app on your PC, you can set "rules" for incoming message, and what to do with them. For example: If the subject line includes "viagra", set the rule to delete it.
The messages will still come in, but you don't have to look at them. Also, set you e-mail app to empty the "Deleted Folder" when leaving.
I typically keep two email accounts... one for forums and the "public", one for private communication with friends. But email list are sold all the time, so it's hard to keep anything from those a-holes. I have a friend who sent in a resume to a place on monster.com, and all the sudden he's getting hit hard with spam. That has to be a bonus for that company... find an employee, and sell the rest of the emails off to the high bidder. I use a yahoo address for the forums, and they do a surprisingly good job at filtering crap.

My favorites are the ones I get from all these foreign nationals with big bank accounts that are willing to give me millions of dollars if I help them with some secret transactions. Makes me feel like the international man of mystery that I really am.

I run a filter on my email and I still get all the crap. I get 250-350 emails per day. About half of that gets caught by the filter, but the rest have creative spellings, symbols, etc. Guess how many relevant emails I get a day... About 25-30. It's disgusting.

I used to get all that garbage in my Hotmail account, it used to be 30 per day. I kept that account but stopped using it, and opened a Yahoo account. I have never gotten any sex related stuff in my Yahoo account. I only get about 3-5 junk emails per week in that account but never anything X rated, usually crap about naming a star- and the filter always puts it in the junk mail folder when it comes in.
I kept the Hotmail and for a long time that crap continued, but for now, I only get about 8 junk emails per week in that one, some x rated, some not.

For what it's worth...I BUY zero over the internet, nor e-bay...I get NO spam messages...and it's very nice...I also have a delete button on my keyboard just in case...
BTW, I read an article on MSNBC about the scam concerning the Ortho birth control patch women can paste on their butt...seems there's a lot of (stupid) women buying this patch off the internet at half the price...some of them got pregnant and are now suing Ortho...Ortho sez "It's not ours, we don't sell over the internet and ours are sealed packages with a control number printed on it." Looks like those women that are saving half of the cost are getting a sticky patch...and nothing else...stupid, stupid, stupid!!!
But as P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute...and most of them buy off the internet!!!"

Try being a guy named Courtney! I get both the typical "Take this and you'll have a huge dick" as well as herbal breast enhancement ads. They want me to have a huge dick and huge tits! If it weren't such a pain in the ass, it would be funny.

FWIW, I have a basic Earthlink account with the spam filter, and I get very little spam, maybe 5-10 a week. The university that I work for has no filter; my campus email addy is so clogged with that crap I don't even open it anymore.
