I'm ordering parts to get ready to lower my Buick and need a little advice on what I might need to replace in the front suspension. I will be using new spindles from FatMan, will be getting new stabilizer bar bushings, and stabilizer link kits. Should I be getting kingpin kits or can all the hardware that holds the spindles on be re-used? Thanks, Luke.

If you're going to the trouble to rebuild the front end, it's only slightly harder to do it right than to do a mediocre job. I suspect you'll want to drive it, possibly hard at times. Think about that.
I'd get an entire rebuild kit including tie rod ends and ball joints.

So were can a guy get his hands on a rebuild kit for a 54 Buick that isn't going to cost $400 or more?

I got all the stuff to rebuild the front suspension my '55 Buick on Ebay. It took me a year to collect everything, but I wound up with inner & outer, upper & lower shafts & bearings, tie rod ends, intermediate tie rod rebuild kit, idler arm, support & bearing - the whole enchilada for under $150 !! Lots cheaper than the vendors wanted. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I checked out Kanter and they had a kit for $279.00. That should last me as long as I own my '54. Still a little spendy, but better than $400.00. Now I just need to wait for the rest of my parts to show up so I can get my Special a little closer to the ground.
