Bakersfield FAMOSO March Meet & Drags Who's Going??

I was wondering if anyone was going to the Drags at Famoso March 12-14th?? Anyone running a car? I was thinking of going, and if I can drag Satinblack with me, he'll be there too. If we got a swap spot, the Hambers will all have a place to meet up, perhaps BBQ and have some beers between the drags.
I know a few of you mentioned you were going in another post, so who's in??

I am going. It'll be a practice road trip for the 60 F-100. I am thinking about driving it to Austin to the Hot Rod Round Up. If it does okay on the way to BAKO, I'll probably take it. If not, I ride shotgun with my friend Dave.

Seems to me we had a few saying they were going to Fontana swap and no one showed.......hummmm I will need to think about this one. I don't know if these hamber's even care about the drags, there old ladies may not let them go?

The swap meet was a clusterfuck last year, but the dude running it now says it will be much better and bigger... we'll see. At any rate, anyone bringing stuff for the swap might want to get there Friday, as last time they had no spots for sat. I'm going up Thurs to buy mine, and will bring my stuff Friday.
I plan on staying the night(s), so it wont be totally boring, we'll be BBQ-ing and having beers all night.. Watching the drags all day..
This would be another good opportunity for a Hamb get together, and BBQ. I will bring a BBQ and some chicken, as well as some breakfast stuff..
Guys that are running or helping with cars in the drags.. let us know what you got or post pics so we all have someone to root for..

Gonna be there everyday. Look for the return of the Hawkins & Webster 15 Ounce Coupe, the terror of the San Gabriel Drags. The Viper's AA/FC will be there, back of the pits, as usual. BTW, AA/FC stands for Alcohol, Alcohol/Food Coupe. Yes, I'm bringing the Hydrazine Flash Chili too.

No really, we'll have a sign of sorts, or look for a mid 70's Chevy crewcab brown & tan, beat up lookin. With a bunch of crap strewn out on the ground in front. Maybe you can hang out after hours for a little BBQ & beer session.. Damn, I might have to fill the keg up again....

Hey Desert, the chili runs out by Saturday, no matter how much I bring. Tell me what you'll be driving and I'll find you. With the Goodguys, we never know what the parking situation will be. The Vipers are usually by the first turn out, at the top of the track, as far as you can go in the pits across from the booth where the racers get their timing slips. And, yeah, It's pretty spicy.

PS: There is often a party in Bako with some rockerbility bands, anyone know what's up with that? Seems like I always hear how cool is WAS! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'd like to know before it happens this time.

I'll be there again - hope they figure out somethin' different for swap access, cuz carrying an "A" cowl over a half-mile to the parking lot SUCKS! They wouldn't even issue a temp pass to drive the truck in to the swap to pick it up.

All those fuckin' overweight drag guys putting around with nothin' in their lifted off-road golf carts but their lard asses wouldn't even slow down when I was wavin' a $20 for a ride to the gate.

This year, I'm just buyin' little shit.

OK Hamberinos, I guess I'm running up Thurs to buy my spot and going up FRi to stay till Sun. There will be a HAMB sign on the truck, I have a white shell on it now... Stop by to shoot the shit and have a beer or two. I dont have a space # yet, I'll get it on thursday. Possibly looking for a rider, as its 60 bucks for the weekend and its 65 for a spot, I need 2, I'll split it with you...(30 for you. But you may have to help with loading a little)
