Finally done - just need a throttle cable and a little detailing. Started with a $50 beater... did a little rigging on the front to mount the spoked wheel and bike bars and to lower/smooth the rear fender, then it was all filling welds and painting.
Gonna need some lettering and striping at the Round Up... andybody know some good artist-striper types? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

cool. can't wait to see it!!!
That's just really neat and looks top notch. Artistic too!
But that seat reminds me of a fraternity hazing paddle.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Where there's no sense there's no feeling maybe? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Still, the wood looks good with the Orange paint.
Bravo on ya, and throw a pillow on it to ride it!

The wood seat rides fine. I put it on for test rides after installing the motor, but then decided to keep with the 'woody/surfer' motif. Hoping to get some striping and lettering done on the seat and front panel in the same style... maybe add a little Tiki here and there. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
FAT HACK - I'll race ya in the 10-yd dash... after that you got me!

Looks good! I was wondering about the seat, too. I think the surf/woody theme is cool. Tiki striping would be a nice touch!

Build you some swoopy wood panels for the side right under the seat for the Woody look and let Fatlucky take care of that seat. Its makeing my spine hurt thinking about it.
Cool Minibike.I like it.

Lookin' good! I'm probably the least likely person to say this, but I kinda like the wood seat. Needs some springs under the back half though...

If you search the net, you can get unfinished skate decks for about $20, that would be cool for a seat!

under the seat you could put a little skeg, round the front long board style and have a mini surf board. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

buford,
Bring that puppy to Bonneville in August. We can make some eye-watering passes down the salt. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Nice job on your scooter!
