View Full Version : "Rat Rod" PT Cruiser sighting in Long Beach
Out working today and saw something comming down the road. Looked like a Hot Rod, but I couldnt figure out the type of car.
It was a flat black PT Cruiser(Kruiser?) with lakes pipes, white walls, and red wheels. A guy in his 20's was driving! it. This was no "hip"soccer mom.
I shit you not, I really saw it!

Did it have a rainbow sticker on the back of it?
Was it headed towards Belmont?
Was it Wes?

Sorry man, it was beyond me! Someone behind me threw this damn ad in my scanner from across the room, and before I could press cancel, I ended up typing and posting this reply. I tried man.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Monster, that is almost exactly how it looked!!!!!(were you there!?) Red wheels and no hub caps, that is it. I was working on the side of the road, and as he drove by I could see it had a high shifter with a large skull on it! He didnt miss a single gimick. My one complaint is it was not nosed or decked, a more traditional Pt would have been.
Wish he was stopped, I would have had alot of questions about his "traditional" custom! Man the money he spent, could have bought a killer complete, finished car. I am sure more people out here will see it.

Well, it wasn't a PT, but I ran across a Neon in black primer, with no hood and 15" chromes running around in Poplar Bluff, Missouri...it was like he couldn't figure out what look he wanted, and so he went for a variety..a little hot rod, a little muscle car, and a little tuner...and the end result? Hilarious, at least to me... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I've seen that PT around here several times, going up Lakewood and the other day parked in front of PepBoys. Ithas a custom grill. the bumper is split and the grill is split in tw with a body color bar going down the middle. May be a "kit" since the whole front end of those things is rubber.
The greaser looking driver is always smiling so I guess HE's happy with his toy and that's ALL that matters!
(Maybe I should take the Caddy fake wire wheel caps off my flat black Astro Van and paint the wheels red so you can start a thread about it's sacrelidgeto "Traditionalism" too!) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
