Hey everyone,
I'm john, 26 yrs old, new owner of a 1953 ford customline. bought it from an old guy in Iowa, had it about a month now, since i had it i changed the bias-ply tires to some michelins, did some replacemant tune up stuff under the hood (points, ballast, wires, dist.cap, coil) and repainted everything in there. (THANKS FOR THE HELP SONNY!) he got me into this old car thing and has helped a lot. this weekend i'm putting a cd player in the glove box and installing some speakers.

Soon i plan to lower the car (my car aint low, i photoshopped that part!) if anyone knows where the best place to order blocks & u-bolts kit, and some front springs.., lemme know, i might just heat up those fromts to lower it.... . after that, it's just crusin...,

Hi John, nice ride and it sounds like your having fun customizing her.
You could use lift kits for the rear, they are the same as lowering kits and easier to find. I used to heat the front coils years ago and some time on the older fords we used to flip the spindle upside down for a radical drop. I seem to remember that we used to have to heat and bend the spindle for alignment.:cool:

the back end is going to be the easy part.., but i dont know too much about a lift kit (i guess i'm that new to trickin' old cars) ..., and i would have to see the spindle up in there to see if it could be flipped.., i like doing stuff my self (cheap) but there's a guy around town who does it for like 300 to 400 bucks (not cheap) but at least i would know that the dude would know what he's doing...., as for the radio in the glove box..,. coming along great.., i fabed up a face plate to cover the extra space and mount the unit, made a cloth cover to get it all slick lookin and just need to run speaker & power wire. i picked up some alpines at best buy lastnight, open box special (cheap, again) i'll load some update pix on my profile when i get it all hooked up.
