Wiring for Welder

My shop is wired for 220 50 amp (4 wires) and the welder I just picked up is 220 20 amps. I haven't been able to find an adapter to go from a 50 amp plug to a 20 amp plug. The 20 amp recepticle only needs three wires. I know where to put the 2 hot leads and I suspect I wire the neutral to the green screw, but what do I do with the ground wire? connect it to the box? or cap it? Or should I just make my own adapter? And if so does anyone know how to wire up an adapter?

The green screw is a ground. 220 shouldn't have a neutral. Never ever ever do without a ground wire. It's the difference between life and death in some instances.
