I can't find it so I guess I'll just stick this shit here.
Finally finished the toughest job I've given my self so far. Volunteered to stripe a bicycle frame for my pal vonFat. Should be simple enough I figured after having done his cooler to match his car. How wrong was I? Tubing on its own is a bith to stripe, but when it's all welded to gether it's even tougher as I had trouble getting the sucker clamped so it'd stay still, then there was the issue of bracing my self so the lines weher at least close to straight.
But in the end, affter a lot of rubbing off and redoing stuff, I got it to a point where I figure it's done

The Art Show started on Wednesday this week, I think, so it's probably on page 30 by now.
Cool frame. That's touchy work. I just bought some new brushes and 1Shot again, time to git practicing.

Thanx, I guess I'll just leave it here then. ;)
The chain guard was about the easiest part to do.

A while back I gave this toolbox to a friend who donated it to his club coz he figured it noce enough that they could raise some money by including it in a charity auction.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a395/PCarps/sb3.jpg
So I figured I should do him one that he had to keep because it matches his car. Of course that meant I had to first paint the box black. So it was dissasembled and inside the lid I used flat black, leaving the box bit red like his red upholstery.

The outside I painted with POR15 so it's not only shiney but durable too. With the lines in red and white only. It's still a ways from being finished but I kinda like the way it's worked out so far.

I figure if I keep practising I may eventually get it right.

Hey Carps, how is POR15 to stripe over? Did you spray it on?
2 art shows. Whatamess. Isn't Brush or somebody like the moderator for the art portion of the HAMB? Maybe he (or somebody) should be assigned the task of starting the Art Show each week. Or I'm dumb. Either way, nice work all.

Carps, wow. you've really started getting it man. It's been a long time since I can remember seeing you stripe. You've made real strong progress. Looks great.
BTW, Do you remember meeting a guy named Gerry(Gerald) Essex at a Goodguys show a few years back. I was talking to him and he said something about meeting an Aussie who drank like a fish....I put two and two together and figured I'd ask next time I saw you 'round here.

Hey Carps, how is POR15 to stripe over?
Great and one shot sticks like shit to a blanket.
Oh, and the POR15 sticks whatever the boxes were painted with like a second skin. I just scuffed them up with a 3M scouring pad.
Did you spray it on?
Nope, but I probably should have. It brushes on and flows out very smooth, however being black and veeery shiney it also attracts every bit of dust and lint that's in the air within a half mile. I figure it'd do that no patter what, so you have to set up an ultra clean environment so it dries withhout crap in the finish.

I'll leave that to everybody else, since I'm always late or just don't show for weeks on end. ;)

Half the fun of the art show is getting to start it up! If it did start on Wednesday, this week, that might be a bit early. Thursday has always been cutting it close, but we understand our Aussie brothers and sisters get anxious since they're several hours ahead of us.

Thanx Bro, I really appreciate that. Sometimes when I've had too much of a break it takes a while to get things rolling, but like everything, the more I practice the better I seem to get. Of course Whodaky has passed on a few handy hints and we've had some enjoyable moments just striping and shhooting the breeze as the rest of the crowd at the KOA picnic party on without us. Great therapy and motivation working alongsde someone you admire for all the right reasons.
BTW, Do you remember meeting a guy named Gerry(Gerald) Essex at a Goodguys show a few years back.
Hey it's been way too long since I last saw Gerry and Deb but every now and again I write or email, and of course we exchange cards at Christmas. heck,, we even hang the Muscatine Iowa Christmas tree thingie they gave me on our tree every year. How are they doing?
We first met at the Nat's when the Model A coupe was in primer, then again a couple of years later when it was finished. In '96 they even attended my wife's 40th birthday party. Only one missing was my wife, but we rang affter everybody in the motel parking lot was suitably charged with gary Dilly's family recipie 'shine' and sang happy birthday to her down the phne line.
That was also about the last time I got into the booze.
Last time we caught up was i think the '98 Nats and they'd just finished the green '40 Tudor. That car was even nicer than the A coupe. Last time we communicated gerry was working on a new car, ow's that one coming along?
I was talking to him and he said something about meeting an Aussie who drank like a fish....I put two and two together and figured I'd ask next time I saw you 'round here.
Haven't touched a drop for almost ten years and I'm very glad of that since it pretty much saved my neck later on. But that's another story. Nowadays all I drink is water or fruit juice.
Hey, when ya see 'em, tell 'em I said gudday.

Did some more on the black box last night.
Part of me is thinking the new bit needs more whte another part says. "less is more so leave it.'
I think I'll do the other side and see what I think about the front then.

Found some time this arvo and finished the toolbox. Tried something different, for me anyhow, using diffferent brushes for red & white probably can't tell in the pics but white lines are fatter than red on this part.

I'm kinda pleased with how it turned out. :D
