I have always heard that Rust-o-leum paint by krylon(i think) is the best spraypaint for rust prevention etc. If you can get a hold of a spray gun and a compressor, I would definitely say to use Zero-Rust. That stuff is the SHIT, you can paint over cancer rust and it won't rust through, and it is tough as hell. My thoughts

Yeah, get the Eastwood stuff. In November I sprayed all the jagged rusty rocker edges on my car with Rustoleum after a lot of prep, painted the rusty rear wheel arches with some kind of oil-based tractor paint from Fleet Farm after a lot of prep, and painted the driver's side floor with Eastwood's stuff with almost no prep. It's more expensive but it's COMPLETELY worth it. The only thing I've had under my feet all winter has been a little rubber floor mat, and there isn't a speck of rust showing up anywhere on the driver's side floor, and all the low spots are still filled up with dried salt (drag snow in, snow melts eventually, dries up, leaves salt). I only did one coat too. The Rustoleum and tractor paint I did several coats and rust is creeping in all over the place, although there's definitely less bubbling and stuff than there would be with regular paint. The tractor paint worked a lot better than the Rustoleum too, although rust is still showing up in some spots.

You can get zero rust in a rattle can from "senik paint" in costa mesa. Or call their anaheim or orange store which would be closer to you and have them ship it there.
