Sports Car Racing – 1963

Lately, I’ve been obsessing on late 50’s and early 60’s road race cars. I’ve always thought it would be pretty incredible to own and drive one of these cars on the street. My dream varies… Sometimes I’m driving a ‘63 (or maybe earlier) Vette coupe all done up proper to brake hard and tear ass out of corners. Other times I’m in something a little more exotic… maybe something like the Ol’ Yaller that Elvis drove in “Viva Las Vegas.”
In any regard, this little obsession of mine has lead me to the below video. Frankly, it’s a bore… the narrator seemingly has a stick up his ass, the action focuses almost entirely on the lower cube class cars (read: girl cars), and it’s not all that well shot. BUT, if you are patient and if you are a tad bit sick like myself, you will brave all that nonsense for glimpses of beauty in the background of the racing footage. There are some dandies… Enjoy…
