Steve to the rescue...

Despite feeling a little under the weather this morning, I decided I needed to drive my hot rod to work. I had attempted to do so the morning before, but had some issues with the flathead loading up and spitting. It was an easy fix as the points had simply lost thier gap. Tardel advised me to get some new points, but I decided to risk it by regapping and hitting the road.

I almost got to the Congress Street exit when the old points let go again. The motor died and I sat there in desparation as my cell phone notified me that The Jalopy Journal was down as well. Technology of all kinds from all different eras was failing me.

To rectify, I called the German and got him rolling on my hi-tech worries and called good pal Steve Wertheimer to come to the rescue on my vintage concerns. By the time Steve and I had gotten to the parts store, the German had already done his deed so that left Steve and me in pursuit of the right points. We found them and plugged them into the ’42 distributor in no time. My hot rod was back to spec…

The points? All technology fails, it’s good to have great pals, and always-always-always listen to Keith Tardel.
