The Jalopy Journal Presents…

I figured it was about time to write a post about our events scheduled for 2009. For the past three or four years, we’ve hosted atleast three events per year. This year, we decided to narrow it down to two. The reasoning really had nothing to do with the economy, but more about quality and focus. We are working really hard to make sure the H.A.M.B. Drag Nationals and the Revolution are above and beyond… And if we get to where we are comfortable and confident that that is going to be the case, we might ad another smallish event to the schedule just for shits and giggles.

In any case, here are the details:

The 2009 H.A.M.B. Drag Nationals
If you cut through the shit and look at the Drags with an unbiased eye, I think it’s pretty hard not to call the H.A.M.B. Drags the best drag race in the country. To get it, I guess ya have to be there… It’s special.

This year, we plan on more of the same. And, if you haven’t heard, we have changed host hotels. We traded in the La Quinta (great folks, tiny parking lot) for the Holiday Inn and as a result, we get much better parking, grander rooms, and some great surprises for the Saturday night parking lot party. You don’t want to miss it. Promise.

The 2009 Hot Rod Revolution
We took the year off last year to welcome a new member to the family. In fact, we are still celebrating the latest Tardel… and plan to continue doing so well into September and this year’s Hot Rod Revolution.

I don’t want to let too many cats out of the bag quite yet, but this is going to be one hell of a car show. Think of being at a small and rural park in Northern California with around 100 to 150 traditional hot rods. Now, imagine a very large percentage of those cars being former Bonneville record holders from the late-1940’s and early 1950’s. We are gonna try to get the Circle of Champions back together.
