Fire!
I don’t typically let my garagejournal.com world slip over to my jalopyjournal.com space. I like to keep the two separate for the health of both communities, but I recently had a shop fire and I think the lessons learned could be valuable to you guys as well.
Essentially, I was working with some linseed oil that self combusted 12 hours after being thrown in a 55-gallon plastic trash can. Somehow, my shop did not burn to the ground… But even my fire marshal can’t explain why it didn’t. I just got lucky.
