Old Car Commute = Low Stress Driving

Old Car Commute = Low Stress Driving

I usually ride a motorcycle to work for a few reasons: It gets great mpg, its easy to find parking, but most importantly, it has maneuverability. For example, when some clueless commuter in front of me is driving their hybrid 20 mph under the speed limit, talking on the phone, or smoking copious amounts of Mary J (maybe all three at once), the nimble motorbike can simply go around them… And arrive to work on time and stress free.

Unfortunately, somedays I need to drive my car into the office and it usually leads to stress and bad behavior. On yesterday’s rush hour commute, I was cut off by an entitled guy who pretended no one else was on the road but him… Yeah, enter Mr. Roadrage. After a fit of sign language and militant lane posturing, and then finally calming down, I reflected on an important thought: On those days that I have to drive a 4 wheel vehicle to work, it might as well be one of my old ones! When driving a classic car I’m never driving aggressively enough to get cut off; Instead I get waves and thumbs up. When I want to change lanes, I simply stick my arm out the window and people let me in like I’m Moses parting the Red Sea. To top it all off, the radio is never on and I never miss it…
