MT Cover Car: Joe Urritta’s ’41 Ford

If you love early Barris Kustoms, then your likely aware of Joe Urritta’s amazing 1941 Ford two-door Sedan. Donned in an extremely long padded top (it’s not actually a ‘Carson’), a massive amount of painstaking bodywork, and lots of signature touches, Joe’s Ford was the ultimate Barris Brothers calling card when it premiered at the first annual National (Oakland) Roadster Show in January of 1950. To my knowledge, this Motor Trend article from July of the same year is the earliest feature on the Urritta Ford. You can read the article below to get all the details on the impressive build, or read Rik’s extensive coverage here. Sadly, this custom masterpiece disappeared long ago, but it sure seems ripe for a tribute car, doesn’t it?
