One more from Amelia… Pink’s 36 Ford!

There was one more car on the lawn at the Amelia Island Concours that really caught my attention this past weekend; The chopped ’36 Ford 5 window had little information on the placard, except listing the owner as “3 Dog Garage, Boyertown, Pennsylvania” Then it stuck me this was Ross Myers’ shop that brought the 1936 Ford Roadster “Dreamboat” to Amelia back in 2011, which was a 1959 Hot Rod magazine cover car. This ’36 coupe was quite different though- With a little digging I realized I had stumbled upon Ed Pink’s 1936 Ford!  Sure enough, Myers recently restored the car to the 1950 configuration, complete with that amazing louvered hood, five inch chop, and Ed himself rebuilding the amazing Flathead motor. The car was shown at the GNRS back in January where it won the ‘Preservation Award’, but this was my first time seeing it in person. It made it all that much cooler that 85 year old Mr. Pink was a judge at the Concours, too.

(Sorry for the bad snapshots, but the place was packed with people, and I was on the run!)
