Fred Larsen’s Roadster

The image above has always haunted me… I found it in an early issue of “How To Build Hot Rods” that was published in 1952. The owner of the car, Fred Larsen, was a west coast guy that spent a bunch of time on the east coast when he owned the roadster and because of demographics his car really didn’t see much print. As such, I’ve passively searched for more information with little to no results.

This morning, however, the Google gods adjusted a formula and a new result surfaced. A site dedicated to the history of Land Speed Racing posted a pretty detailed account of both Fred and his mysterious roadster.
