Gary Meadors

Gary Meadors

Gary Meadors passed by way of a sudden heart attack over the weekend. I didn’t know Gary. Not really anyway… I talked to him on the phone twice and once more in person, but we shared a lot of really good pals. So, in a way, I felt like I kind of did know him.

I always looked at Gary as kind of a gentle outlaw. The way and the reasons for which he started the Good Guys Rod & Custom Association always appealed to me even if the shows themselves did not. It sounds a bit cliche, I’ll give you that, but Gary did shit his way… and without many compromises. In doing so, he leaves behind an honest-to-goodness legacy – one that is tangible, real, and undeniable. At the end of a life, you can’t ask for much more than that.

Gary is gonna be missed by a whole lot of folks and even though I didn’t know him, I count myself as one.
