C.A. Hall Auto Top Shop: A Mysterious ’39 Lincoln

C.A. Hall Auto Top Shop: A Mysterious ’39 Lincoln

So I was cruising old and outdated websites and came across this one. Essentially, it’s a single page job that recites the history of the C.A. Hall Auto Top Shop. If you have the time, it’s a good read and features some good imagery. In fact, it’s one of those images that inspired this post.

I found it on the sidebar of the above mentioned website, did a reverse image search, and found the higher resolution version you see above. I then ran it through photoshop to correct the levels. Once I was done, I just sort of stared at it… and decided that this just might well be the best looking custom car I’ve ever seen. That said, I don’t know a damn thing about it.

Hall was out of Oakland, so I suspicion that maybe Westergard had a thing or two do with it. The running boards are gone and that beautiful little stainless rock guard on the rear fenders sure speak to something Harry would do. And, of course, there’s the slight reverse rake that also feels like Harry. But again, I have no idea.

Anyone have any clues or, better yet, more images?
