A Distinctive Pre-War Custom

A Distinctive Pre-War Custom

It’s hard to create a really stand out traditional pre-war coach-built custom car because your working with a fairly small pool of resources coupled with the fact that shops like Coachcraft and Harry Westergard set a pretty high bar to aim for. Now imagine starting with one of the most unlikely donor cars from the late 30s to modify: a 1939 Cadillac Series 60 4 door sedan. That’s exactly what fabricator CadMad (Quentin Hall) from Brisbane, Australia had on his hands, and when Kustom connoisseur Rik Hoving began doing some digital restyling mock ups for the car, magic began to happen. The vision called for a generous chop, long suicide doors, and removable hardtop fitted over a convertible roof with flush parade boot. Now this grand beauty is beginning to really take shape, and it’s going to be something very special, dare I say distinctive, when it’s done.
