Most folks on the HAMB love vintage gauges, and it makes complete sense- These beautiful dials look right at you, with all their analog glory, allowing the car to talk to you face to face. Automotive, marine, and industrial all had amazing gauge designs in the 50s and 60s, often influenced by the military aircraft of WWII. I want to focus on Tach design today- The tachometer is the main dash gauge in a hot rod, and the most dynamic one to watch as well. The big players were Airguide, AC, Sun, and of course the big daddy of instruments Stewart-Warner. Offy made some good ones specifically for hot rods, as well as Jones Motrola.
