4 Old Car songs you may not know…

4 Old Car songs you may not know…

I know fully well that taste in music is personal, but I also know that the same fella who can appreciate a period-correct ’29 Model A Highboy can *probably* appreciate an old timey guitar tune or two about cars. Case in point, if you find yourself at Cars Land down at Disney’s California Adventure in Disneyland. Waiting in the long cue for the “Radiator Springs Racers” ride you’ll hear nothing but 1920s-40s era songs about the automobile. Looking around at the antique car parts hanging up and listening to these songs puts you back in a simpler time. This music just does that. Most of us know the surf-era classics like the “409” or “Little Deuce Coupe”, even 50s songs like the “Hot Rod Race”, but let me lay out a few older tunes for you from the ‘Racers’ cue that you may have never heard before:

“The Chevrolet Six” by Frank Hutchinson

“Hot Rod Baby” by Dick Reinhart & His Lone Star Boys

“Hot Rod Rag” by Paul Westmoreland

“The Automobile Song” by Luke McDaniel
