Vintage Bonneville Footage

So the last few weeks have been crazy for me. The Revolution came… and was canceled. Thanksgiving came… and we had a bit of a family medical emergency. And then, of course, there is the redesign of The Jalopy Journal and the H.A.M.B. – maybe the most ambitious project I’ve ever taken on and certainly one that has dominated my “todo” list for longer than I care to think about. Put short, a bag of shit has most certainly hit the fan from all angles and the fallout has been nothing short of tumultuous.

As such, I have been pretty worthless from a content creation standpoint. My brain has simply reached some sort of regulated multi-tasking threshold and anything produced past this line isn’t much more valuable than the previously mentioned and ill fated bag of excrement. I’d quit and go about my merry way, but the future has me too excited to stop now. A glorious future awaits so long as I can punch through this hellacious holiday season.

Anyway, I took some time off this morning and did a little browsing for some fresh but old hot rod footage. In doing so, I found the King Rose Archives on YouTube. Incredible stuff and I suggest you check out the entire archive here. But if you are too busy, I’ve posted a couple of my favorites.

First, some general Bonneville footage from the late 40’s or early 50’s:

And a shorter clip, but maybe my favorite of the bunch – Setting up Bonneville:
