Impromptu Reliability

So last year a group of us got together with our hot rods and headed out to a very small air show in San Marcos, TX. It ended up being one of the best “car days” of the year. Open roads, blue skies, loud hot rods, and good conversation… It was those very memories that kicked off another brilliant adventure this past weekend.
It started with a post from Skot. His winged buddies were putting on a show in Burnet, TX and they wanted to extend the invite to any and all hot rodders willing to make the drive. After a long and “hard” few days of doing our thing at the Lonestar Round Up last week, the invite couldn’t have come at a better time. It didn’t take much arm twisting before a group of us had committed to attend.
By around 8:30am on Saturday morning, we had gathered at El Jefe’s casa ready to get on the road. The lineup included myself, El Jefe, Franco, Silva, Bleed, and Fat Lucky. The plan was to head north to pick up Norm and Merle and then west to Burnet for food and show. It all went as planned and nothing really of note went down. It was just another one of those days and more than likely, the best car day of the year. I’ll let the photos and captions tell the bulk of the story.
A special thanks to all the fellas that made Saturday happen. It’s days like those that make it all worth while. You guys are tops…
