What would your perfect “Lambrecht Auction” consist of?

By now, we’ve all read about the Lambrecht Chevrolet auction taking place this weekend in Nebraska. The family-owned dealership owners Ray and Mildred Lambrecht who kept hundreds of very low or ‘delivery’ mileage cars and trucks from their dealership and tucked them away for 50 years. Some of these time capsules are obviously thrashed and weathered, but other vehicles seem to just need a ‘dust and flush’ to be back on the road again… This got me thinking, what would the once-in-a-lifetime dream scenario be for you, if could find the ultimate ‘Lambrecht’? What brand dealership would be, and from what era? It’s easy to go to a 1927 – 1936 era Ford dealer that saved one of everything (including NOS flathead parts), but that would be just to darn easy, wouldn’t it? How about a 1949- 1956 Lincoln Mercury dealership in the dry Southwest, chock full of hardtop coupes, convertibles and Continentals with factory air! Maybe you’d prefer a Hollywood used car lot that kept a trade-in mix of ‘sports jobs’ like a Nash-Healey roadster, a Muntz Jet, and perhaps a Kaiser Darrin stashed in warehouses? Like I said, it’s your dream scenario, so have at it…
