Very rarely do you see a 1950’s era magazine feature a single car on its cover. Typically, covers of the period obnoxiously promote as much of the material within as graphically possible. One exception to this rule is the September, 1958 issue of Car Craft Magazine. Ted Svendsen’s lonesome ’34 graces the cover all by itself.

The little car is deserving of the attention too… How often do you see a sectioned and fully fendered model 40 that retains grace and line? I can’t think of a single example beyond Ted’s car. I’m completely taken. Check it out:
