Tech Week – WINNER!

Tech Week – WINNER!

In 1946, the manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Leo Durocher, was asked by a reporter why he couldn’t be as accommodating to the press and the fans as Mel Ott and the rest of the New York Baseball Giants were. Leo looked back in disgust and said, “Look over there. Do you know a nicer guy than Mel Ott? Or any of the other Giants? Why, they’re the nicest guys in the world! And where are they? Last place in the league. Nice guys finish last my friend. They always do.”

Well, screw you Leo Durocher… Ryno just proved your theory was about as accurate as your .247 career hitting bat. How bout that?

For those not in the know, Ryno is just about the nicest fella this side of the Mississippi. And while it might be cliche, he’s one of those guys that would do just about anything for anyone… and I couldn’t be happier to see him taking home the top prize of what has become our biggest Tech Week of all time. You can see his winning post here. And as the winner, he will take home a $1000 gift certificate from Baileigh Industrial as well as a $250 gift certificate from EMS Auto. Congrats Ryno… I can say with no doubt that you deserve it!

Second place goes to “Big A” and his thread that demystified the job of peaking a hood. Big A will take home a $250 gift certificate from EMS Auto, a set of drive shaft headers for a small block chevy from our good pals at Gear Drive, and a $100 gift certificate from the world famous SoCal Speed Shop Sacramento.

Third place goes to F&J who sort of awed the masses with his thread on hydro forming sheet metal. Yeah, HYDRO forming! He’ll be taking home a $250 gift certificate from EMS Auto as well as a hand made clock made from the legendary and dearly beloved “Da Tinman.?

Finally, fourth place… the last place winner… goes to Woodlouse who documented his aV8 build from start to finish. He’ll be getting a $250 gift certificate from EMS Auto as well as a t-shirt from Kelly’s Hot Rod Parts.

That’s a lot of winners and a lot of damned prizes – over $2,500 worth. So a big thanks is in order to all of our sponsors who put this deal together and made it happen. And even more importantly, a big thanks to EVERYONE that participated. This was one hell of a tech event and I can say that because of all the amazing entries. That shit was fun to watch!

Until next time…
